Hi,
I would like to upgrade my Late model 2009 iMac 27. Currently my specs are listed below, please suggest what I can do to upgrade the performance for my computer. iMac 27 I7 2.8 ghz 8GB DDR3 1066 memory 1 TB hard drive I would like to install a SSD drive into this computer, can I keep my current 1TB hard drive and install a CD-Rom mount for the SSD hard drive? Will increasing my memory to 16gb increase my performance as well? |

You can upgrade that model to 16 GB of memory easy enough, however, I'm not sure about adding an SSD to the already existing configuration. As far as I know, there isn't a way or adapter to remove the optical drive and replace it with a hard drive as there is for the MB and MBP.
However, there may be a bracket or adapter to mount a second hard drive in that machine. Do some Googling to find out what others have done. |

This leads me to wonder if perhaps the real problem isn't something you're doing (for example overfilling the hard drive or not properly quitting your programs). |
