I recently had my Powermac dual 2G machine serviced. The tech said the logic board is bad. Will it work with a faster board of the same vintage (if made) or later and still have it all work when reassembled? The system was upgraded from Panther to Tiger to Leopard.

Have you identified a logic board in particular? Also...you could consider replacing it with the same speed board.

Not sure you if you know your Powermac's value...but I've seen folks buying dual 2.0ghz Powermac G5's for around $150-$200 (fully operational)...and I even saw someone get one for $110!

I would say keep this in mind when considering a replacement logic board.
