Will it work? The specs seem fine to me...

yeah i'm planning o bying a mac in 2 weeks.

One mor thing (does that phrase sound horribly familiar? ) : If the new iMac has an iSight built in, does that mean there's a mic too? I think so, becuse Steve Jobs spoke to Phil Schiller and there didn't seem to be a mic around there... must be there in the isight, like it is if you buy it seperately.

Yes, all iMacs and eMacs have built in microphones, surprisingly good ones too!

(Oh and all the iBooks and PowerBooks do too)

Sounds like some one who has had a bad experience...

I have been dealing with NewEgg for over 5 years. Bought all the stuff to build 2 different computers from them, pluss a lot of stuff to build a water cooled well lit gamer. Bought a couple of hard drives and a few other things too. Have always found their service/products/warantees to be top of the line not to mention their prices usually very good.

What was your experience?

If you notcied, it costs 144 SWISS FRANCS.
Improting stuff from the US is expensive, we pay around 20 USD Tax on everything plus 6 % of the product value.
So going to a US retailer is not an option.

The Crucial Advisor recommends some DIMMs with 4200 and some DIMMs 5300 ? Will 5300 work , because Apple doesn't say it will.

Opps! you didn't say you were in France....ya you guys get stuck a good hunk when you buy from here. And NewEgg does not ship out of the US anyway so you couldn't buy from them unless you had someone here to ship it to and then they re-ship to you. To bad, good stuff at great prices...

Yeah too bad.

Also too bad that someone in this forum doesn't know that

a) Swiss Francs is the currency of SWITZERLAND, not France.
b) France uses the EURO since January 2002.

So much for todays bit of general knowledge (or is it just reader attentivness? ) .

Anyway thanks for the help.

The question about 5300 DIMMS working still remains, though.

Just goes to show that not every one in the world knows everything, though there are many who will claim it anyway. Sorry i missed the "Swiss" and just saw "Franc" and as far as euro goes i don't deal in those as i don't do money transfers from any country other than Canada. In any case New Egg doesn't ship outside the states so it doesn't make any difference what money your using.

As far as your question about 5300 dimms, i don't know for sure so i didn't answer it. I would tend to believe though they probably will not. My reasoning for that is the Older Macs, like mine, used PC3200 400 ram and 433 would not run on mine, so like i said I don't really know. Maybe you will get lucky and someone will tell you it will.
