How to make Spaces not show the picture on middle of screen

For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about:

It's a little annoying to me (mostly because sometimes I don't want everyone in the room to know i switched a space), and I was hoping there might be some "default write" command or something else that could get rid of it and maybe the obvious sliding of the screen so it just instantly switches without anything noticeable except the windows open changing instead...

Anyone know of anything?

Lion does a pretty job of that If you have an Intel machine. I like the Lion spaces a lot better than Leopard for the same reason .
