Want to buy a new iMac but have some concerns

I want to buy a new iMac to replace my old G5 Mac, but I'm afraid that it will have similar connection problems to the MacBook Pro that I got earlier this year. The wifi connection on my Macbook times out a lot for no apparent reason and I have to reset my modem to get it back. I have no connection issues with my current iMac (running Tiger) Could it be that my modem is quite old? I have a Netopia 3347WG Wireless Modem. I would appreciate any advice, thanks

I know nothing about the brand of modem\router you're using. However, since you purchased a new MBP and intend to additionally buy an iMac, it would probably be a good idea to update your modem\router at the same time.
