The Mac Mini is a very good computer. They are correct in saying that it does not come with a Mouse, Monitor and keyboard. You are meant to use it with the Monitor keyboard and mouse you already have. But you can always buy the keyboard and mouse. And depending on who is buying it for you (im assuming you parents) they will probably be told that it doesn't come with a keyboard and mouse and buy you one.

They used to be the opposition company when I worked at Solutions in Hove... But they're fine. The Mac mini is not rubbish, just don't expect it to do what professionals on their Power Mac G5s do! As for out of date make sure: - It has Tiger - That it has 512MB as standard That way you know you're getting the new ones. If it's 256MB - get one with 512MB. Vicky :flower: |

It will be fine for light stuff in Elements but don't expect to be able to do CS stuff.

Sure not as slick as on a faster Mac but I would never say the Mac Mini isn't up to handling CS and CS2. Download the try out version from Adobe when you get your mini and judge for yourself. I use Photoshop 7 on a G3 8500 (333MHz) and an 8MB Graphics Card (Imagine 128 chip - or put another way, crap old graphics chip!) and it works fine enough, not as fast as on my PowerBook G4, but then it has a GPU miles ahead of the Imagine128 and the G4 at 1.5GHz is a lot faster than the G3 333MHz. I think if you're doing productivity stuff that isn't audio or video editing (outside of iMovie), and as said, games -- the mini will pack a very decent punch and as everyone has said -- you will find the stableness of the Mac a dream.
