downloading while on sleep mode?

Does anyone know if macs (specifically the iMac) while on sleep mode will continue downloading large files (e.g. torrent files)?

Once the system goes to sleep, you will not be able to down load anything. What you can do is disable the CPU from shutting off and dim the display.
