HI all,

I have a Mac-mini (the previous generation - not the newest one the one before).

Lately it has been taking forever to do simple tasks like open an application like Word, also when I am change pages in Safari it 'whites out' momentarily then changes pages and sometimes when I go to the 'Top Sites' page and click on one of my top sites I view a corrupt page (a bunch of jumbled sites..the best way I can describe it) for a moment and then goes to the page I originally clicked on.

I would appreciate some input on this.

Thanks

This is juqt a guess, could be the hard drive dying as your symptoms indicate that as a possibility for sure. Run disk utility and look at the bottom and see if the drive passes the SMART.

I did verify and repair disk permissions about a week ago and the report said the disk was fine.

I am not sure what you mean by SMART?

Umm are we talking 10.7 or 10.6 0r 10.5 here ??

Dont forget to use the Reputation System if someone has helped you out !!!
“I have absolutely no pleasure in the stimulants in which I sometimes so madly indulge. It has not been in the pursuit of pleasure that I have periled life and reputation and reason. It has been the desperate attempt to escape from torturing memories, from a sense of insupportable loneliness and a dread of some strange impending doom ….”― Edgar Allan Poe

Update:

I decided to take it to the Apple Store. They told me the Hard Drive is fine but I need to get more memory. So I ordered an 8 Gig memory upgrade kit. This is what I ordered:

Amazon.com: Kingston Apple 8GB Kit (2x4GB Modules) 1066MHz DDR3 SODIMM iMac and Macbook Memory (KTA-MB1066K2/8G): Electronics

Thanks for all your input!

Update:

I just installed the kit the other day. So I went from 2 gigs to 8 gigs. So far, I only noticed that I am able to surf the net quicker - pages load faster. I will know more as I use my computer more in the weeks to come.

Thanks all for your input!!
