I've got an iMac 24" 3,06 ghz (early 2008).
And now the videocard is dead. With one should I choose. GeForce 8800 or ATI Radeon HD 2600 PRO??

Mac Specs: 13" MB 2.4ghz, 2gig ram, OS 10.7.4

Are you sure this particular model iMac has video hardware that is replaceable? The video hardware on most (almost all) iMacs is not replaceable...since it is soldered onto the logic board.

I checked iFixit.com...and could not find a replacement video card for this model iMac:

The 2008/2009 24" iMac can have the graphics card replaced. Suggest you go with the 8800 as it has 512MB VRAM compared to the HD2600 256MB.

That is why the nVidia card is fifty bucks dearer.

Hang on to those original install discs like grim death! Using OS X.7 or later make a bootable USB thumb drive before running Installer!

My early 2008 iMac also needs the graphics card replaced. Are there any other options besides the two listed above?
