I'm already the proud owner of a 21.5" base 2010 iMac. Now we're turning off cable in favor of a faster internet plan and Hulu/Netflix, etc. I also homeschool our kids and have several streaming video curriculum supplements. Right now I run an HDMI cable from the iMac to our TV and play the videos that way, but I'm looking for something that doesn't tie up my iMac.

The Mac Mini looks like it would be perfect, but my husband is skeptical it won't have enough horsepower. I figure we're not gaming or doing anything taxing, so maybe up the RAM after we buy. I'm looking at the base model. Literally all it would be is an entertainment/educational presentation machine.

What you you think?

Thanks

Kim

The new Mac Mini has plenty of power for what you need it for and it's an ideal machine to hook up to your large screen TV. And the base model is fine. You can always add memory to it yourself later on if you should find the need to. Adding memory yourself is very easy.

Thanks for the reply. I thought it was, but I wasn't sure if there was a catch as the price point is almost too good to be true. My husband is trying to talk me into a Windows netbook for this because of price, and I am really not wanting to go back to Windows.
