Ok I have a new mac G5 the dual 2.0 and I need to hook it up to the internet. Now the box says it is supposed to have a modem. Well when I look on the back there is a delete piece where the modem should be. I removed that and saw the two copper connectors there so I tried to plug in the phone line but when I tried to connect using AOL (temporary thing for a week) it couldn't find the modem. Looking through the system folder and everything I couldn't find a modem listed either. Now I am hoping this isn't something simple I am going to feel a little dumb about later but do any of you guys have any information or advice? Thanks in advance.

Modem's are a BTO accessory so unless you added it online or had them install it at the store it will not have a modem

The box probably says modem ready

My wrong, he said Dual G5 DOH! hehe.

What is weird is that stuff that comes standard on the other Macs are BTO on the PowerMac, just crazy that you have to ask for a modem and a keyboard and mouse too among other things.

Yeah I checked the box and my invoice both say there should be a modem in it. I guess I will just have to open it up and see if there is one in there and if not I will give them a call.
