Ok I have a new mac G5 the dual 2.0 and I need to hook it up to the internet. Now the box says it is supposed to have a modem. Well when I look on the back there is a delete piece where the modem should be. I removed that and saw the two copper connectors there so I tried to plug in the phone line but when I tried to connect using AOL (temporary thing for a week) it couldn't find the modem. Looking through the system folder and everything I couldn't find a modem listed either. Now I am hoping this isn't something simple I am going to feel a little dumb about later but do any of you guys have any information or advice? Thanks in advance.

Modem's are a BTO accessory so unless you added it online or had them install it at the store it will not have a modem
The box probably says modem ready Don't forget to use the new User Reputation System |

What is weird is that stuff that comes standard on the other Macs are BTO on the PowerMac, just crazy that you have to ask for a modem and a keyboard and mouse too among other things. Last edited by sursuciofla; 09-22-2005 at 07:23 PM. |
