Anyone know which Airport versions works with the eMac? Specifically a G4 800MHz one?

Or, anyone know of a USB WiFi card that works with the eMac?

Cheers.

Airport is basically Apple's name for Wifi

Any USB wifi dongle should work as even modern Wifi routers are backwards compatible

54Mbps Wireless USB Adaptor : Wireless USB Dongles : Maplin

I understand that.

I'm not worried about router compatibility, I was more concerned with drivers for OS X for the USB adapter.

Have you tried the model you've specified with Tiger?

I have tried one of those with a G5 running leopard and the supplied drivers on disc worked fine

bat never have got one of those USB adapters to work properly yet. The original Apple Airport Card will work in the eMac and here is a link:-

AirPort Card: Compatible Macs

They are available pretty cheaply:-

Hang on to those original install discs like grim death! Using OS X.7 or later make a bootable USB thumb drive before running Installer!

Depends. Apple released two versions of the 800mhz eMac. One had NVIDIA graphics & the other had ATI graphics. This makes a big difference as to what Airport card you can use.

Let us know which 800mhz eMac you have...and we can narrow things down to what you need/or can use.
