There is a cd loaded in the tray of my power mac G5 and it won't eject when I press the eject button on my keyboard. When I press this key a triangle with a line underneath it flashes on the screen, but nothing happens. What can I do? Is there another way to eject a cd on a G5?

Try dragging the disk icon to the trash, or restarting, or shutting down and booting back up. Mine is occasionally stubborn about ejecting a disk- usually because some program is open that is using it or I tried to do something before the disk was recognized. Try closing any apps you can and ejecting.

If none of that works, you may have to physically remove the drive to get the disk out.

Before you remove the drive try this!

Reboot and at the chime hold down the (left) mouse button until the disc is ejected.

you could also reboot the mac and go into open firmware mode (hold down command option O and F on startup) then at the prompt type "eject cd", this should eject the disk for you.
