hi, i have a desktop iMac OS X and bought it around 2008, it was running 10.5.8 software and i havent updated it, but i downloaded XCode and can only use it if i update to 10.6.6, it wont let me do it though! what will i do? i really need help

You'd have to upgrade to Snow Leopard if your machine supports it.

You have to buy the disk, you can't download it.
