I am using IMAC OS X 10.6.6
PSP 2006 System software 5.03 Prome-3

I tried connecting my PSP 2006 to IMAC using USB CABLE. All I see in my PSP screen is "please wait" and on my IMAC nothing was added in my desktop.

please help me.. I need to back up my save files.

Thank you

It looks like you will need a 3rd party tool to integrate the PSP with your Mac. Here's one:
Download PSPWare for Mac - Integrates your PSP with your Mac. MacUpdate.com
This hasn't been updated since 2007, so it may or may not work on Snow Leopard. The last couple comments on the review board indicates some issues though with the developer. Still, shouldn't hurt to try it.

Ditto for this one, though the developer has a great rep:
Download The Missing Sync for Sony PSP for Mac - Turn your PSP into a multimedia info center. MacUpdate.com

Please verify and include the exact model/year of your Mac and OS X version number (available from "About This Mac", then "More Info" on the Apple menu).

are you using CFW? cause this works fine for me. i have official firmware 6.20.

should be able to plug PSP into computer and enable USB mode under settings.

if not, try an external card reader, and put the memory stick into it.

He's using 5.03 Prome-3, says in his post.

You shouldn't need a 3rd party application at all. I have a PSP-2000 with CFW on it, and it shows up just fine. I'm going to assume you did what robduckyworth said, and put the PSP in USB mode. Does it show up under Disk Utility (an application located in /Applications/Utilities)?

That'd do it! Glad to hear it's something as easy to replace/fix as that cable!
