Hi Everybody,

Does anybody know if I can reset the region on the dvd player on my iMac?
I have changed the regions 4 times so the Apple man says no more
Next time I see him I will remind him I paid good money to buy his Apple iMac.
I have download the VLC program but it takes a bit of effort to run every time to watch a dvd.
Okay for me but my Wife's not that computer savvy and the dvd program with iMac was no problem for her to run.

Cheers

Welcome to M-F AndyNZ

Sorry to say mate your all out of luck. 5 Times is the  official documentation.

Reinstalling the OS wont work either as the count is within the Firmware for the DVD player...

Go here to see if any of these firmware updates can be used for your drive. If they can, that will reset the region count. Note: Use at your own risk. A bad firmware update can "brick" your optical drive.
