It's been about a day since I received my new 21 inch iMac with all of the specs maxed out and I must say that I am quite impressed. I was previously using a late 2008 unibody MBP. I tend to keep my CPU maxed out for hours (sometimes days) at a time. My MBP would turn into a fireball and the fans would emit a very loud noise. Now with my new iMac, the system runs cool, and I can't even hear the fans running, that's with the iMac running at full capacity since I got it. Of course, there is also the gorgeous 1080p 21 inch screen (i think it's 1080p, it's 1920 x 1080) and it's 2-3x faster in doing most of my tasks.

The truth is, I would have preferred the 27" with a quad-core i7 processor, but as it is the 21" iMac JUST fits into my desk.

I'm also enjoying the iMac's built in speakers. They are far better then I expected. They have a much richer sound to them than my MBP's speakers ever did. A deeper bass as well.

Stories like this make it hard when I'm torn between another Mac and building a new Win7 beast.

I cannot be held responsible for the things that come out of my mouth.
In the Windows world, most everything folks don't understand is called a virus.

I have always wanted to build my own machine. It's too bad you can't really build your own Mac.
