Hello

The menu bar flashes now and then in Os 9.2.2. Is there any way to stop it? Is it in anyway connected to the fact the comupter won't shutdown properly from the menu?

Usually the menu bar flashes when you've turned the volume down to zero. The menu bar will flash whenever the system error beep is triggered (since you can't here the error beep with the sound muted.)

As for the shutdown problem...what happens when you try to shut it down? Is some app or extension preventing it from shutting down? Is there a hardware device (like a PCI card) that could be holding up the process?

Hi

For eg. I was backing up to an external FW drive today and the m bar flashed a few times. Flashing continued for rest of the day...
Have a Digidesign Mix core PCI card but used to be able to shutdown OK.

Would it be worth re-installing the OS?
