I'm thinking about buying this refurbished Mac Mini.
Micro Center - Apple Mac mini Desktop Computer Refurbished 138651

Is this a good price and would this machine be good enough to do general email, web surfing and word processing? What else could this machine handle?

The specs are:

Specifications
Operating System Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard
Processor Speed 1.2GHz
RAM Installed / Max RAM Supported 512MB
Hard Drive 40GB
Multimedia Drive SuperDrive DVD±RW Drive

Nope...I wouldn't get it.

- First...the photo is wrong. That's the photo for the newest Mac-Mini
- Second...the website says that it's out of stock.
- Third...price is kind of high. I bought an older used G4 Mac-mini like this that was better (1.5ghz cpu, built-in airport & bluetooth) for $50 dollars.

That was a pretty good deal. But I see them normally selling on Craig's List for around $100 to $150.

They do have some in stock at my local Microcenter store. I think I'll pass on getting it based on your comments. Thanks!

Ok I see (local store has it, internet store doesn't). Yeah...$249 for this 4-5 year-old Mac-mini is definitely on the high side. Keep your eye's on Craig's List if you really want one...should be less $$$ there.
