Needing to pick up a 1TB external Drive, what are some of the better, stable drives out there?

Stick with one of the major manufacturers like Seagate or Western Digital. I would shy away from one of the companies that doesn't manufacture the hard drive mechanism itself (they only make the case - LaCie is a good example). Also, G-Tech is made by Hitachi, which has been producing some good drives in recent years.

Liquid and computers don't mix. It might seem simple, but we see an incredible amount of people post here about spills. Keep drinks and other liquids away from your expensive electronics!
