Well the new G5s come with either the Sony or Pioneer drives.

I got mine with the Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-106D.

My question is...

Apple says that it is a DVD-R/CD-RW right?

Well, Pioneer says that same model is a DVD-R/DVD-RW/DVD+R/DVD+RW

So what's the truth? Does Apple have one made just for them without the +?
and if they do, why isn't a different model number?

Here is a screenshot of the System Profiler...just incase you were wondering...
