USB ports won't let me start up!!

Hi,

I have to unplug any USB leads connected to my imac for it to start up.

Any answers on how to repair this fault would be great!!

What kind of iMac, and what USB devices are you using?

My iMac is.

300mhz
6GB
192MB Ram
Bondi blue
Mac OS 9.2.1
Slot loading CD

It makes no difference whether you a have keyboard, mouse, printer, scanner etc plugged in.

Hmm. And I assume this is a new problem? What exactly happens when you try to start it with USB devices plugged in? I couldn't find any similar instances anywhere on Apple support. Have you changed anything lately?

I have updated my system software to 9.2.1 and I updated the firmware aswell.
