When TM makes incremental Back-ups I cannot see the amount of data that is going to be handled. Shouldn't there be an indication bar or some sort of other information that shows the total amount in Mb?

You can find that information in the log files when Time Machine is running or on the status bar at the top of your screen, click the Time Machine icon when Time Machine is running.

Hope this helps
