HD/Enclosure Combo:
Western Digital WD400JD 40gb, 8mb Cache, 7200RPM Rosewill RX30-U2FA FireWire/USB Enclosure I have it plugged in using FireWire. I cloned my hard drive to the external one then set it as the boot drive. It seems to boot a little bit quicker. The WD hd isn't the quietest one I have ever used. Overall things load a bit quicker and feel a little snappier. It isn't a HUGE difference like I have heard it might be but it is well worth the money, especially if you go with a bigger HD so you have that advantage also. I originally had an 80gb Samsung Hard Drive in the enclosure but it was having problems being recognized, it didn't work plugged into my mac or my PC.

The more I use it the more I like it. At first I wasn't terribly impressed but it is working a lot smoother. I don't know if it is worth the money to go to an external 40gb like I did, but if you went with an 80gb+ I would consider it a worthwhile upgrade. |

I went this route. $138 after rebate. Well worth it.
