I have an iMac with a mouse with a pimple on it which permits me to scroll up and down. Recently the mouse has given up scrolling down but still permits me to scroll up. Does this mean that it has packed up and I should get a replacement or can I get it working again? I find this feature with the pimple most useful.

Ahh, this is one of the main reasons I moved back to my Microsoft mouse!
Basically what has happened is dust has got stuck in it. The best method I found of fixing this is to get some kitchen towel and nail varnish remover*, or similar product, dampen the kitchen towel, and then with the mouse upside down rub the track ball round and round so the nail varnish remover coats it. Then just do the same with a dry piece of kitchen towel. *My sisters, not my own... |
