I need to change the RAM in my mac

Here are my specifications;

Model Name: iMac
Model Identifier: iMac7,1
Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo
Processor Speed: 2 GHz
Number Of Processors: 1
Total Number Of Cores:2
L2 Cache: 4 MB
Memory: 2 GB
Bus Speed: 800 MHz

After researching a little i found out that i could increase my RAM up to 4gb
Each memory slot can hold DDR2 PC2-5300 with a maximum of 2GB per slot

Now i cant find a DDR2 PC2-5300 as specified

Instead a DDR2 PC2-6400 is available,

wanted to know if it would work fine on my mac?

Any advice would be appreciated

Thanks for that

But will a DDR2 PC2 6400 work instead of a 5300?

Thanks

PC2-6400 is backward-compatible for PC2-4200 and PC2-5300

So... Yes, you can use PC2-6400 module, instead of the PC2-5300.
but just to be clear, your computer will still transfer data at 5300MB/s (5.3GB/s) NOT 6400MB/s (6.4GB/s)
