hey i had a quick question. I have an iMac g5 with a total of 1gb of ram. now my question is, if I wanted to update to a total of 2gbs, would i have to buy two 1 gbs? the reason i ask is that i added 512 to the standard 512 that came with the imac, but i do not know alot about memory. i heard that the imac has 2 slots, and thats why i was curious. sorry if the question didnt make much sense. thanks!

Hi tomas,
You're right, the iMac does have 2 RAM slots. If you bought an extra 512 stick, then that means you're using up both slots, which brings you up to around 1GB of RAM. But, if you want to go all the way up to 2GB, you'll have to take those two current sticks out and pop in two 1GB sticks. - vr04 |
