So I was wondering if anyone could describe the first time getting an iMac? Because I want a iMac because it looks beautiful! I have a computer running Linux. I'm happy with it, just not that happy.

Thanks.

Also, any tips would be helpful.

I could not stop smiling after i got my 27" iMac...
I still get excited about using it LOL

It's a great computer and I'm glad I got it. No regrets.

I got the 3.06GHz Intel Core 2 Duo version, because the i5/i7 ones were not available at that time.
It was $1699.00 = $170.00 for apple care.

When I unboxed my iMac and turned it on for the first time, I was grinning like a weasel eating a chicken. I still get a big smile when I sit down to do something on it. It was without a doubt the best computer purchase I have ever made.

Awesome! I only have one Apple product, the Ipod Shuffle. <.< But I want to get more products from Apple. I have a sticker on my binder of Apple, lol. I want to get the Macbook Pro after I get the iMac, then the Ipad and the iPod Touch. I want the iPhone when I move out of the house.

love my 27". i didn't have the extra cash to step up to the i5 like i would have liked to do, but my core 2 duo has been more than enough for what i do.

when i got it though, it took about 2 weeks before i stopped going, "holy crap this thing is enormous." lol. i had been using a 22" LG monitor for the 2-3 years prior, and it was still a significant size jump. MBP is next on the list as i am clearly an addict now..

EDIT. i actually had to find a bigger desk to accommodate the additional weight and size of the thing.

i am now almost wireless thanks to my airport extreme.

-27" iMac. Core 2 Duo, 1TB HD, 4GB Ram.
-13" MacBook Pro. Core 2 Duo, 250GB HD, 4GB Ram.
-iPhone 3GS 32GB.
-AirPort Extreme.

I wish I had the money for a 27". Fantastic!

But, I settled for a Mac mini- it's more than capable with 2GHz C2D and 8 GB RAM.

And for portability (well okay mobility- the Mac mini is portable!), I have a MacBook. More than capable (and portable) with 4 GB RAM. Plus I have a Power Mac G4 (Sawtooth) with 1GB RAM (it can go up to 2GB I think), but I don't use it often anymore LOL.

I really want one too but I can't as I move about too much and I am planning to move back to the EU soon. I am going to have to settle with an i7 MBP soon to help me with my addiction. It is a shame as there is nothing wrong with my MacBook Pro now but the screen is just too small. 27" won't fit in my backpack!

MacBook Pro 2.66Ghz i7. Mac Mini 2.26Ghz C2D
iPhone 3G 16GB iPad 3G 64GB
