Hey,

As the title suggests, a friend (blonde girl), put an SD card into the SuperDrive by accident. It is under AppleCare so I was wondering if the repair would be covered by Apple?? It was on an iMac 21.5".

Thanks,

-Ben

Not covered by Apple care. Have you tried removing it? Someone not too long ago had the same problem but it was with a MBP. He was able to remove it by tilting the machine on its side and shaking it a bit. Give that a try but be careful not to drop that nice 21.5" iMac!

Regards.

It was a blonde who said that in the first place, so the source is dumb. How do you put an SD card into a CD slot "by accident" ?

It wasn't me. It was a friends girlfriend. And I have no clue how she, or ANYONE would manage to put an SD into a massive SuperDrive slot when there is a small SD slot under it which is obviously for an SD.

Now that would be a super blonde moment! I can partially understand doing it in an iMac, but the MBP is on the opposite side of the machine.

Oh, I know. It was a rhetorical question more than anything.
