I have a 17in iMac with combo (the newest model). I sent a report ot apple so...

I am sure that it is not an application because i have not install any in the last week and i just had the Kernel Panic about 5 minutes ago. It is not the ram either because that was installed when i bought the computer at the begining of May.

Well, if anyone has some suggestions please feel free to post. It would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks

I am going to run the Hardware test now and see what happens.

You don't really need to worry about it unless it happens multiple times. I had one Kernal panic in 2 years since switching and it was because I did something stupid trying to get a DualDisc to import into iTunes

Well i just ran the hardware test and it came back that the memory is not all that great. It gave me an error and i am not sure what to do!! I bought the memory from newegg so i think i may get a hold of them tomorrow and see if i can get some replacement sticks.

Anyone else have some input!!!

Now that i think about it the Kernel Panic happened after the security update. I did the security update last night and then the panic happened why i was playing Halo. I am looking for new ram on newegg right now.

newegg has good return policies so they will probably replace the ram

cool!!

I will probably get something that doesn't have heatspreaders on them this time. I accidentally ordered ones with them on because i didn't look at the picture close enough.

Thanks

Well, just thougt i would let people now what is going on.

I called newegg and let them know the situation. the lady i talked to was very polite and had no trouble when i told her that i now longer had the box it was shipped in or the packaging. She said that was "fine" and sent me an e-mail telling me wear to send it. All in all, it was a pleasent experience.

Now all i have to do is wait to send it out tomorrow and wait for the return.

Does anyone know how long this process usually takes??

Thanks
