neye: My G4 Desktops power supply blew and I was wondering if anyone knew where I could find one under the ridiculous price of $199.99

What do you mean exactly by "blew". Did it belch smoke or just quit. Most PS are easily repaired.

So why has this thread gone nowhere? Im interested as well, buying a g4 466 powermac for $100. It needs a power supply.....or a motherboard, no one knows, but Id like to know about the pc power supplt question as well, anyone know?

There is a how-to in www.xlr8yourmac.com on putting an ATX powersupply in a G4 tower. It requires a little re-wiring, but it would save a chunk of change. Also check eBay. They may get bid up excessively, but I'm pretty sure they would be cheaper than apple.

Yeah I found that one through google.....PHWEW, that looks a little over my head......

hmmmmmmm..... still thinking, i guess the ebay option is a good one, im perfectly capable of swapping out, but rewiring.......

Yeah might not want to rewiere somthing with that much voltage if you are not confortable with it.

Sorry I havnt been responding but yes I had left my G4 on all night and it wouldnt turn back on in the morning so I did try to fix it but that didnt work so I took it to a friend and he said that my power supply was screwd. Maybe I could rip one outa a PC but would that be good for the Mac?
