Firefox always starts up in offline mode

Like I said above Firefox always starts up in offline mode. How to fix that and keep from having to uncheck Work Offline? Some say it is a wireless network connection problem but the airport is on but looking for connection then saying on.

Mac SK is offline
Ive had that problem too but on a Linux PC box...so its not an airport issue.
