Can someone help - what is the best (and cheapest) stuff to buy for wireless Wifi on the above computer?

I'm assuming I have to get a WiFi dongle, as I don't think the older G5's have build in Wifi cards. My questions is , if I get a wireless-n router, do I just get a wireless-n dongle? Easy as that? Any suggestions? Below is what I'm looking at:

Wireless-n Router ($75):
Linksys by Cisco WRT400N Wireless N Dual Band Router - eBay (item 120538776146 end time Apr-02-10 17:20:40 PDT)

Wireless-n Dongle ($30 or $40):
Mvix Nubbin Wireless-N USB2 Adapter / Dongle for MAC OS - eBay (item 130309058200 end time Mar-22-10 16:36:08 PDT)

Welcome to Mac-Forums!

You say you "don't think the older G5's have build in Wifi cards". That depends on which model of 1.8 G5. According to Mactracker, if you have the ambient light sensor model (mid-2005) of 1.8 G5, airport wireless is built-in. System Profiler on your G5 will tell you.

If you have an earlier model, Airport is optional. If you'd rather have an external w/less device, eg. a dongle, I've read of other posts from people who've used that method successfully. Belkin make one that works with Mac, and I stumbled across this one (no brand name given) but it's in the UK, about US$25 http://www.bluescale.co.uk/products/...SB-Dongle.html.
