I have changed the user mode to administrator and locked all the fields and i have forgotten my password so i am in a bit of a mess i can't change my i.p address. Is there any quick way around this, i am runnig OS 9.2.2 and it is a Mac G4.

Should be able to throw away your TCP/IP preferences if I recall correctly.
