    eMac webcam
I have an old eMac that still runs well, but I want to purchase a webcam for it. I heard that the only webcams that work with an eMac are expensive and hard to find, is this true?

    Thanks

Most USB web cams have a good chance of working...even the $20 dollar cheap ones. But finding a web cam that says "Mac OS compatible" will help a lot!

    Hey, welcome to Mac Forums.

I use a Logitech EasyCam (I think - lost the box) with my eMac, and it works just fine. Cost was, at the time, about US$22.

Nothing spectacular, narrow angle lens, resolution is low, it's not too good in low light levels, but, heck - who wants to see my mug in brilliant luminescence anyway?!

G'day and welcome to the forums.

You will hear any number of false tales, particularly from friends who do not know one end of a Mac from the other, but are full of all this 'good' advice. As stated most USB web cams will just work,

One resource I forgot to mention, assuming the OP is going to be using Skype with the webcam, is that Skype itself 'recommends' cameras that work well with MacOS X. See: List of compatible USB webcams for macintosh - Skype Community and Mac Compatible Webcam List: Best Web Cameras For Apple OS X.
