I just ordered a new iMac 27" and have a spare 24" Mac display. What do I need to use the 24" as a second display, if possible?

Thanks from a recent PC to Mac convert and my first post here.

Is this a 24" iMac or the 24" Cinema Display?

As seen on apple.com/displays all you'd have to do is plug the Mini Display port into you're iMac's display port, and if you want the 3 USB ports, attach the USB cable from the display into the iMac. You won't need the power port, that's only necessary for the MacBooks. I hope this is of some usefulness? Also, I'm assuming this is the current generation of Apple display.
