what is a well trusted 3d party provider/manufactuer of ram?

I heard that the ram mac sells is special and that other ram could fry my mother board or somthing, but its so much cheaper! and that could just be sales jargen, but I wana make sure I dont screw up big time, im new at this

Pfft. It's not special! Whoever told you that was a liar. PCs and Macs take the exact same kinds of RAM.

Crucial is the best place to get RAM (www.crucial.com)

What kind of Mac are you going to be adding RAM to?

Check newegg.com, they have great prices. Kingston, Rosewill, Corsair, PQI, Geil, and many others are all good.

eMacs take PC2700/333MHz NON-ECC/UNBUFFERED 184-pin memory, I think (eMac owners, correct me if I'm incorrect.) So:

(Older emacs take 168 pin memory.) For specs on all eMac models try: http://lowendmac.com/imacs/index.shtml and go to the section on eMacs. There are three different series of eMacs so just pick the one that you have.
