Hey guys I have no idea what to search for to answer my question so if this is already answered please disregard my ignorance.

I'm going to buy a Mac Pro come January when I get my bonus from work.
~~Here's my question:

I would like to purchase an extra 1TB hard drive solely for running Windows 7. What kind of hardware/software setup do I need to do this??? Obviously I will need to use Boot Camp, but is there any special configuration I'll need to do this the way I want to???

~~thanks for any help!!!

You can't install Windows via bootcamp on another drive except for the one that OS X is installed on (I think - double check this). There is a work around so you'll need to do some googling to find it (again, if I'm right which I'm not 100% sure about).

Apart from Bootcamp and a copy of Windows, that's all you need to get going. 7 Ultimate 64-bit runs fantastic on my MBP so I'm sure it will be brilliant on your Mac Pro. Enjoy!

As long as the new 1 TB drive is installed internal to your Mac Pro you can indeed install Windows 7 on it using Boot Camp. Whether or not you want a RAID setup is up to you. (Note that Boot Camp does not support a RAID array.)

Regards.

I can confirm this as I own a 2008 Mac Pro and have Win 7 running in BootCamp on a completely separate drive. Works fine, no other software is necessary other than BootCamp and a copy of Windows.
