Memory stick shoved into Optical Drive

Am I lucky or what? 2008 iMac 20" intel... grandson decided camera memory stick should be inserted.

Any advice?

Yes...keep grandson & computer in different rooms! Ha ha!

But seriously...I would turn the iMac 90 degrees so that the optical drive slot is facing downwards. This would give the memory stick the opportunity to be as close to the opening as possible.

Then you could take something like a plastic knife (like you would use at a picnic)...and try to "fish" the memory stick out. Or you could be extra extra careful & use a bent paperclip.

In either case...unplug the Mac first!

I gently inserted the coat hanger and the memory stick popped out....
