iMac - iMac G5 PPC keeps sleeping funny noises

Hi,

I have an iMac G5 which has recently started behaving strangely??? Fans go on it puts itself to sleep all the time.

Can anyone help. I have run Onyx but no joy, idisk utility as well

very confused but then so is my iMac apparently

Mac Specs: iMac i5 2.7GHz OS X.9.4

Have a look at these suggestions:-

iMac G5 (iSight) Fan and Sleep Problems - Mac Forums

And when you say idisk utility, do you mean you booted from the install discs, and ran Repair Disc from Utilities after bootup? If not, try that also.

Thanks I rubbed the bottom and it was full of dust and the fan behind too was blocked. after a good clean of the air intakes it seems to have solved the problem.

I guess i brought some dust from India with me in the move
