Working on a G5 that only has one volume in it. Just booting normally brings up the blinking folder with the questionmark. If I hold opt while booting, the one HD shows up. I can click on it and it will start up properly. I went into startup disk and made sure that the default drive was set properly. Any other suggestions to get this computer to boot without holdign down teh opt key?

Regards,
Shawn

You might want to try resetting the PRAM/NVRAM on your G5. Refer to the following Apple KB article: Link

Some folks have also suggested that a defective or weak PRAM battery could be the cause. See the following article about same. Link

New battery can be ordered from OWC if necessary.

Regards.
