It's a long story so I won't bore you with the details but I am wondering whether the Mini will be able to handle the streaming of MLB.TV in HD. I have budget constraints, hence the mini, but I already have a 24" display to hook it up to. I am a little worried as I keep reading that the mini is compromised in practically every department.

Any opinions, ideas?

Thanks,
Mark

I will ask a question, is the Macbook 2.0Ghz powerful enough to view what you want? The Mini has the same CPU, Video Chipset, and everything else. Compromised compared to what? The Mac Pro? The Mini uses a 2.5" laptop drive and slot load laptop DVD Burner. It's small. Desktop parts would never fit.

Since you bring that up dtravis7, guess I should try testing out my wife's last gen Macbook for streaming in HD to the TV. Always use my MBP for that.

If the MB will do it without issue and the old Intel GPU, the new mini shouldn't have much problem with it. Need to get a mini-dvi to dvi adapter for it though.

I cannot be held responsible for the things that come out of my mouth.
In the Windows world, most everything folks don't understand is called a virus.
