When I get my Mac mini, what are the chances I could simply open it up and stick my 512MB RAM from my PC in?
What memory is compatible with the Mini, and how can I check what the RAM in my PC is?

Thanks, sorry for being such a n00b, I know what it's like when someone asks obvious questions in various other forums I post in.

Yes, it is very possible that it is the same ram. When I first got my mini I used my PC ram in it until I bought more. It would either need to be PC2700 or PC3200. CPU-Z from CPUID.com should be able to tell you what ram is in your PC system.

Thanks for that mynameis! I've got PC2700, which I CAN put in the Mini, yes? And will I be able to put the Mini's 256 into my PC? I'll probably turn on the PC once in a blue moon once the Mini arrives.

I am pretty sure the 256 in the mini that it comes with is soldered into the logic board so you can remove it

Don't forget to use the new User Reputation System
