iMac - speakers on an iMac?

Pardon my ignorance, but I don't see anywhere in the Apple specs whether or not the iMac has built-in speakers or comes with external speakers, or would I need to buy speakers.
Can anyone set me straight?

There are internal speakers in the current model iMac. They're quite good, especially in the 24 inch model. If you really want to enjoy your music though you'll probably want to invest in some external speakers.

As far as I know all current model Macs have built in speakers of varying quality.
