I just recieved a 20 inch iMAC 14 days ago. Everything works great including the itnernet. The only problem is everyhour at least 4 or 5 times I lose the signal and airport scans for a signal for 15 seconds even though 2 are already shown. Itsa a short time and I always get right connected back to my linksys network but im wondering if an update is coming for this. Is there are network prefs I can change? Im real desperate considering I just spent 1300$ and I am already having issues... thanks in advance.... any other details needed? Feel free to ask...

and if you would like to email me wlarndt665@email.cfcc.edu is my ****.
thanks!

We need some more info: Are you using wireless provided by your school? Do you use a modem and or a router? Do you have security enabled?

Post back.

Regards.

How far are you from the wireless router/wireless device that your getting your wireless signal from...and how many walls and floors/ceilings are there between your computer & the router?

Using Airport, when I ping my router, I get variable times between 1ms and 250ms with an average of 90ms, but no drops. But since the average is 90 times what it should be, I get poor wireless performance. I am currently using a workaround as suggested in another thread -- a D-LINK USB Wireless B/G adapter. Here are my Apple Airport specs:
AirPort Card Information:

Wireless Card Type: AirPort Extreme (0x14E4, 0x89)
Wireless Card Locale: Worldwide
Wireless Card Firmware Version: 101.3 (3.120.28.3)
Current Wireless Network: AirPort is currently turned off
