Hello,

I have been collecting old computers for a while now and have obtained 3 apple computers. Not being an apple user I am unfimilar with their operation.

They are....

1. Macintosh Plus.

Have not plugged it in yet!

2. PowerPC Macintosh Performa 5260

This computer works ok

3. PowerPC 7220

This appears to have a non booting 2Gig harddrive as the screen simply has a picture of a floppy with a flashing question mark in it's centre. I dont have any software to boot from the floppy.

I think if this is the case the a re-format and install "may" recover the harddrive???

I am thinking I would like to put "yellowdog linux" or similar on this.

Not knowing if the CDrom in it is bootable, is there a boot floppy with teh various MAC linux distros that I can use?

Any ideas/hints/advice?

Regards

Kramoz
