i have a 20 inch Imac g5, and i am wondering if i can connect another display to it. I wanted 2 connect a 17 inch apple studio display but dont know if i can as the imac g5 needs to connect a monitor through? a VGA adaptor. Has the 17 inch display got that port, as i know it has DVI and stuff?

I think the iMac only supports display mirroring, so you won't be able to use the 17" for extra screen real-estate if that's what you're thinking of doing. But there are lots of different adapters you can buy to make the screen work with the iMac - you would probably need a mini VGA to standard VGA and a VGA to DVI adapter if you can't find a mini VGA to DVI.

I'm in your forums, writing sentences in a grammatically acceptable manner.

afraid not. I've seen it mentioned around the net though. Try searching for the dual display patch for imac or ibook.
You can mirror the orgional display just using the vga cable....but to use 2 moniters as 2 separate ones, you need this patch.

The patch is called the Screen Spanning Doctor and can be downloaded at:http://www.rutemoeller.com/mp/ibook/ibook_e.html

Though it is not officially supported by Apple, I have been using it with no problems.
