Greetings! I want to speed up my computer. Below are current specs. What I want to know is what the maximum RAM I can add is and exactly what increments I should buy. Thank you so much in advance for your help.

I would run a scan from Crucial and Macsales to see what your imac takes, I ran it on mine, but ordered the memory from newegg.

Your iMac is upgradable to 3 GB of RAM. 4 GB can be installed, but your system will only recognize 3 GB. Since RAM is better in matched pairs, you could get 2x2 GB, that is two sticks of 2 GB each. If you want to save money, you could get 1 x 2 GB, and 1 x 1 GB. The type of RAM is 200-pin PC2-5300 (667 MHz) DDR2 SDRAM.

Thanks. I'm looking at getting 2x2. Now what's confusing is that the items I'm seeing available say DIMM, and not SDRAM, which is what you suggested. Does that matter?
