I want to add a second HD to my G4 MDD. There is a white plastic lever that is supposed to unlock the rear chassis. When I try this, the lever moves forward, but the chassis doesn't budge. I don't want to use too much force and accidently break something. The help documentation that came with my Mac doesn't indicate a need to unscrew anything first.
Any suggestions or direction to a site that could help would be most appreciated. Thank you

Which chassis are we discussing? Normally the rear, or chassis with the current drive, is quite easy to operate and the chassis comes out. The one beneath the optical drive is sometimes really difficult to remove.

If it is the rear chassis with an existing drive, hold the chassis and jiggle it as you apply pressure to the white plastic lever. Try sliding up as you push and pull the lever.

There is no need to unscrew normally as screws are not usually fitted. However some one may have inserted a screw at the top left hand corner as you look at the chassis.
