Just got my new Toshiba 40inch 1080p TV. Im running a minidvi to VGA adapter with a VGA cable to the tv. It has a VGA input on it. How come when I set up the tv as either mirror or extended I can only get 1360x768 on the TV? Shouldn't I be able to get a full 1080p on the tv? Or is the iMac limited in what it can output? I was sure when I had my MacBook at a friends house on his samsung it was running at a higher resolution then 768?

You need to read the owners manual of the Toshiba.
Most TV's have a maximum resolution that their VGA input will accept. It is rarely as high as the native resolution of the screen.I cannot be held responsible for the things that come out of my mouth.
In the Windows world, most everything folks don't understand is called a virus.
